Heated blankets, vegemite and kangaroos!
"Sh*t, I didn't bring my winter jacket." That was, what I was thinking, after entering the house of my first host family. I thought Australia was supposed to be warm?! Like don't get me wrong, I know that here it's currently winter, but still i was hoping for some sun and warmth. So you can imagine how happy I was, when i found out that they have blankets that you can heat electrically! As opposed to their cold homes, Australians are the 'warmest' and most welcoming people I've ever met. But maybe that's just because I'm used to the charm of a grumpy Viennese. So that's a nice change to say the least. Also the food is a bit different here, for example vegemite. I tried it on a piece of buttered toast and it was...interesting? I really don't know how else to describe it. Did I eat the whole vegemite toast? Yes. Would I do it again? Probably not. Even though a few things were not like I expected, I am loving my time here a lot. Outside of...
