pls send me rainboots

 “Shit, I forgot to bring my rainboots“ (no I totally did not steal this introduction from the first blog post because I didn’t have a better one) But I fr should have brought some, even though I think I don’t even have some in Austria, because tell me why I thought it’s always warm and lovely here. Well it is still lovely, just very very wet. And I even saw a rainbow, so I can’t really complain. 

I am going to change host families next weekend, and even though I really like my current one, I’m very excited to be at my new one (this is obviously not influenced by the fact that they have a dog at all)

To everyone who says “omg running is so fun“. Shut up no it’s not, we both know you are lying. But the feeling AFTER running, THAT is sooo f*cking nice. So stop gaslighting people by saying you love running while you’re actually running, maybe for like 5 min, but then nuh uh, it feels like you are a dying fish. Anyway, I am quite a shitty runner, so hitting my 5k goal consistently (as in like two times💀) is a big accomplishment, for me. We do not talk about my pace or time.

AND I GOT NEW SHOES😆. I love them, they’re converse and I‘ve been wanting them since like forever. I am still mourning the loss of my old vans though (yes, I mourn the death of my shoes, it’s weird but at least I don’t do drugs).

Why can‘t Austrian snacks be as good as Australian snacks? Tim Tans, shapes and my god the ice cream here is so good. But I can’t really bring ice cream with me, so I have to leave my beloved Milo ice cream behind, after the year :(

Lastly, to the lady with the donut stall from the Stirling Farmers Market, who gave me a free donut today: I love you from now on, and I hope you never stub your toe again!

i survived my first 3 months in australia

i am still alive people. crazy, i know, considering my last blog post was uhm...1.5 months ago. oh well... thankfully, the number one fan of this blog (yes steve i am talking about you) reminded me to post again, so here i am :) honestly so much has happened since i last wrote anything so this post will be all over the place and not in the specific order in which the events hapened. Heated blankets, vegemite and kangaroos!

"Sh*t, I didn't bring my winter jacket." That was, what I was thinking, after entering the house of my first host family. I thought Australia was supposed to be warm?! Like don't get me wrong, I know that here it's currently winter, but still i was hoping for some sun and warmth. So you can imagine how happy I was, when i found out that they have blankets that you can heat electrically! As opposed to their cold homes, Australians are the 'warmest' and most welcoming people I've ever met. But maybe that's just because I'm used to the charm of a grumpy Viennese. So that's a nice change to say the least. Also the food is a bit different here, for example vegemite. I tried it on a piece of buttered toast and it was...interesting? I really don't know how else to describe it. Did I eat the whole vegemite toast? Yes. Would I do it again? Probably not. Footy, new people and soft serve

Uhm, sooo...we do not talk about the fact, that my last post was about two weeks ago, after I had promised myself I'd write AT LEAST once a week. Ok? Thanks, great! Anyway. I'm trying to think of what to write, but the only thing I actively remember is bying soft serve two times, and both were expensive as shit (15 dollars, like do you also want my liver or what?). Oh and in the cafè, where I bought the first ice cream, there was also a pidgeon just chilling inside. His name is Francis (i named him :3). What else? I've started school, watched the eagles win and met some other exchange students (not in this order though I think). Wow, I should definetely start doing more sudoks, to avoid getting alzheimer early, because like my teacher once said: Mei Hirn is a Nudelsieb (which translates to: "my brain is a pasta strainer", I know, very deep poetry).
