New Host family and school start

I moved host families about 2weeks ago. And THEY HAVE A CAT. How awesome is that?! His Name is Louie, and when I picked him up he purred, even though apparently he is shy with new people…so basically I am the chosen one. Their dog is a lil stupid. But that’s ok, cause she makes up for it with cuteness. I really like my older shot brothers, since they are basically free taxi drivers for me.  School is nice actually. I love sewing and cooking and now feel the need to buy a sewing machine when I get back home. My Atar subjects aren’t really hard, but you have to do so much work, holy shit. We have to write all our notes at home. THEN WHAT AM I IN SCHOOL FOR?! I am still mad we don’t have a ball, and that the dinner dance is so late in the year I won’t be able to attend it. Like who decided that. I JUST wanna talk to them…

5 months and two extreme sunburns later...

if I had a dollar for every time it took me exactly 1.5 months to finally update my blog, I’d have 2 dollars, which isn’t a lot, but its weird that it happened twice in a row I have been to many escape rooms, but a horror escape room is definitely next level, especially when your friends book it without you knowing, and you find out they booked the scariest of all the ones offered right before you enter said scary escape room, where you will spend one hour. Locked up. Yayyy… I gave all my friends hearing problems with my screaming so, I guess that sums up the whole experience. But I still liked it. It was fun, terrifying, but fun. Also, I will never ever voluntarily go into a room with a scary robot doll, hanging on a wall, I mean it probably won’t ever happen again (I hope at least), but just wanted to clarify that. Honestly, I don’t really care where pavlova is originally from, I heard both New Zealand and Australia, as long as it ends up in my mouth and tummy, because it is...

i survived my first 3 months in australia

i am still alive people. crazy, i know, considering my last blog post was uhm...1.5 months ago. oh well... thankfully, the number one fan of this blog (yes steve i am talking about you) reminded me to post again, so here i am :) honestly so much has happened since i last wrote anything so this post will be all over the place and not in the specific order in which the events hapened. Since i dont know where to start i'll yapp a bit about my running progress until i know what else to write. So. i finally ran 10k for like the first time in my life! which is fucking amazing considering my standard route which is 5-7k. i found my new favourite animal. NUMBATS. They are so cute, i am still debating if i should smuggle one into austria when i come back. i took like 50 pictures of one while i was at the zoo. also, surfing. When i had my first lesson the perfectionist in me was crying, cause i was so bad at it, and then i found out that my board was like two sizes two small, so last time i ...

how to get cancer: a step by step guide

Bild
Can you imagine that I am writing another post after less than a week? That's crazy. Well anyway, I had a bit of free time (I actually don't I just choose to ignore my school assignements for now) so I thought I'd write about the last 2 days but now that I think about that, there wasn't really much going on so, guess this'll be another rambling post, yayy I found another love here (which is food of course duh). GINGER BEER. Goddamn is it good. It's obviously not real beer since I am not allowed to drink here, and honestly don't really want to drink alcohol, but anyway, to describe ginger beer, just think about the perfect lemonade, not too sweet or too sour, just...chef's kiss. Now, I assume the title for this is rather...interessting. The story behind it, is that yesterday when I was at girl guides we were cooking on a campfire. We made some half-uncooked-half-burnt pizza, that was surprisingly really good, and some cheese darlings that were - surprise,...

sweet treats are my frenemy

Bild
I’m gonna be honest, I did not plan what I am going to write here beforehand, so this’ll probably be just a lot of rambling instead of an actual blog entry of what I did. The most eventful thing was moving hist families. MY NEW HOST FAMILY HAS A DOG! His name is Ripley and I love him. He’s such a cutie<3 Please take the sweet treats way from me! 🙏 I swear I cannot say no to a sweet treat. And you can start to see that. But what can I say, the food here is so fucking delicious.  I always feel like a victorian child dying from lung cancer after going in a run, but other than that I have been starting to enjoy it a bit more. Probably because i have Ripley with me when I go for a run. That’s legit so random but I still need to study math today. Idk why i felt the need to share that. Like i don’t hate math or studying it at all...but my god why does it have t0 be on a Sunday!?  I wanted to take a nap man. Well guess I have to cheer myself up with a sweet treat…

pls send me rainboots

Bild
“Shit, I forgot to bring my rainboots“ (no I totally did not steal this introduction from the first blog post because I didn’t have a better one) But I fr should have brought some, even though I think I don’t even have some in Austria, because tell me why I thought it’s always warm and lovely here. Well it is still lovely, just very very wet. And I even saw a rainbow, so I can’t really complain.  I am going to change host families next weekend, and even though I really like my current one, I’m very excited to be at my new one (this is obviously not influenced by the fact that they have a dog at all) To everyone who says “omg running is so fun“. Shut up no it’s not, we both know you are lying. But the feeling AFTER running, THAT is sooo f*cking nice. So stop gaslighting people by saying you love running while you’re actually running, maybe for like 5 min, but then nuh uh, it feels like you are a dying fish. Anyway, I am quite a shitty runner, so hitting my 5k goal consistently...

Footy, new people and soft serve

Bild
Uhm, sooo...we do not talk about the fact, that my last post was about two weeks ago, after I had promised myself I'd write AT LEAST once a week. Ok? Thanks, great! Anyway. I'm trying to think of what to write, but the only thing I actively remember is bying soft serve two times, and both were expensive as shit (15 dollars, like do you also want my liver or what?). Oh and in the cafè, where I bought the first ice cream, there was also a pidgeon just chilling inside. His name is Francis (i named him :3). What else? I've started school, watched the eagles win and met some other exchange students (not in this order though I think). Wow, I should definetely start doing more sudoks, to avoid getting alzheimer early, because like my teacher once said: Mei Hirn is a Nudelsieb (which translates to: "my brain is a pasta strainer", I know, very deep poetry). Now I'll stop yapping and start trying to recall all that has happened.  So, the Footy game. It was not only the ...
